湯姆遜大學是位於加拿大英屬哥倫比亞省甘露市(Kamloops)的公立大學，校區坐落在城市的市中心，距離溫哥華大約45 分鐘的飛行時間，開車約3.5 小時，俯瞰南、北湯姆遜河，校園與片片綠地和繁茂花園中融合，相對的許多公園、美術館、文化遺址，還是度假勝地外，另有許多戶外、越野運動可參與。

在校人數超過13000名，1800名以上的國際學生皆來自85個不同國家，每個班級人數皆於21人內，在這生機勃勃的校園進行大學學士學位、大學轉學課程、證書課程、文憑課程、大學預備課程及英語ESL 課程，和超過140個專業課程可供學生選擇與攻讀。相對有許多課程包含有薪實習，實際運用所學獲取工作經驗。另有超過17000名學生利用TRU的遠程、線上教育系統進行彈性學習，可達到節省時間與成本並完成學位要求。
