Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning前身為安大略應用藝術與技術學院，由加拿大政府出資於1967年成立，為加拿大安大略省政府所認證，也是台灣教育部承認的公立學院，擁有北美地區第二大的藝術與設計學院。Sheridan身為加拿大理工學院一員的同時也為加拿大語言機構成員。
Sheridan College所獲得的ACCC More獎項數量 (ACCC 全國優秀獎) 為加拿大公立學院排名第一，Sheridan提供課程內有三分之一的學生畢業錄取率高達百分之百，以全校平均而言，83%的畢業生也均於畢業後六個月成功就職。根據文卷調查，雇主對於Sheridan College畢業生的表現滿意度也高達94%。
Sheridan College的動畫設計科系獲譽動畫界哈佛之美稱，為全世界第三大傳統動畫與電腦動畫設計之院校，電腦動畫設計領域的先鋒。Sheridan的動畫學生曾獲四次奧斯卡獎提名，於2013年奧斯卡獎獲獎提名者當中，十一人均為Sheridan College的畢業生。為其校友及任教教職人員所創作的知名作品包含《哈比人》、《魔鬼終結者》、《侏羅紀公園》、《阿甘正傳》、《星際大戰》、《史瑞克》系列、《一家之鼠》、《出埃及記》、《魔戒》、《復仇者聯盟》、《馴龍記》、《少年PI漂流記》等知名巨作。
於2012年，Sheridan的動畫藝術設計學院經過認證後取得成為美國國家藝術設計學院組織(NASAD)中一員的資格，是全加拿大唯二獲此殊榮的院校組織。（Sheridan共有18個課程取得認證，另一間是Alberta University of the Arts的2個學士學位課程）
Sheridan College極為重視小班教學，也每位學生均配有一台筆記型電腦供課程學習之需，課程安排十分緊湊縝密。其嚴謹的教學水平和課程設計也造就了Sheridan相較其同類別學院更理想的畢業就業率。
Sheridan College還有與布魯克大學(Brock University)、多倫多大學(University of Toronto)、約克大學(York University)等知名高等院校合作提供聯合學士學位，如多倫多大學的藝術歷史科系、布魯克大學的電腦通訊應用科系等。
學校位置
Sheridan College位於最大城市、同時為其金融工業發展和文化交流傳承重心的安大略省的多倫多市的西邊地區，主要校區坐落於奧克維爾鎮、密西沙加和布蘭普頓市。Sheridan College擁有的三大校區包含戴維校區(Davis Campus)、特拉法加校區(Trafalgar Campus)、麥加侖校區 (Hazel McCallion Campus)。
戴維校區位於離多倫多開車約半小時車程的布蘭普頓市，位於多倫多匹爾遜國際機場附近，於本校就讀的學生約有八千多名，為Sheridan College規模最大的主要校區。主要提供的課程為保健護理、社會學、通識、工程、營建等。
特拉法加校區位於湖邊的奧克維爾鎮，約離多倫多市有三十分鐘的車程。在戴維校區學習的學生約有七千五百人。此校區內還蓋了斥資三千兩百萬美元的謝爾丹動畫製作新興技術中心(SCAET)。提供於此校區的課程主要為動畫藝術設計學院的相關課程，也包含了媒體藝術、劇場戲劇、電腦動畫等科系。
麥加侖校區位於全加拿大第六大的密西沙加市中心，是Sheridan College的最新校區，成立於2011年。此校區為Sheridan商學院”The Pilon School of Business”的根據地，因此提供於麥加侖校區的課程也主要是商科類別。
學生組成
Sheridan College有來自全世界五十多個國家的留學生，但其主要就讀人口仍為加拿大本地學生。目前在Sheridan College就讀的全日制學生約有一萬八千多名，非全日制則有三萬五千多名學生，國際學生約6000名。
學校課程
Sheridan College提共超過130種課程，其種類含括 Bachelor’s Degree(學士課程)、Diploma(文憑課程)、Certificate(證照課程)、Post-graduate diploma(研究所證書課程。
Sheridan College提供語言條件式入學(Conditional admission)，意即學生若是達到一般成績要求，即便語言能力未能達標，能仍在進入Sheridan的EAP Program完成指定課程並得到標準分數後進入申請科系就讀。
Sheridan College還設有藝術預科，專門為因沒有藝術背景而無法提交正式入學所需作品集和基本技能的學生所設計，在通過密集的實用訓練之下，學生也能在沒有相關背景的條件下進入申請科系就讀。
